On Saturday i finally got home to Logan after driving to Provo after work in the morning to attend a wedding. I was super tired when i got home and headed right for a nap. When i woke up i still needed to get my workout in and since it was only a cool 35 degrees in stead of single digits like it had been i headed out for a jog. About 20 or so minutes into it i was running around Providence Cemetery when i was stopped in my tracks by a huge 4 point buck. I didn't even see it till i was like 20 feet away. After checking my pants for chocolate pudding i realized i was in a staring contest with this buck. One i knew i was not going to win. i tried clapping, yelling, etc and the buck stood his ground. He didn't even flinch. All of a sudden internet videos ran through my head of people getting mauled by deer. I then decided that slowly retreating was the best option and kind of side stepped around the big guy. it wasn't till i was well away the he moved. The guy just went back to eating grass, probably thinking how cool he was for scaring the hell about of some runner. It wasn't 15 minutes later that i found my self in a similar circumstance, but this time it was 2 bucks and a doe. I couldn't believe it. Thank goodness they just shuffled off.
I got back to house after an hour of running and was pleased to see i had plenty of energy left so i grabbed the upstairs peoples dog and went for another 30 minutes or so. Sage the dog is a great running partner especially when you are tired cause he has to pee and poop on everything. So i was pretty happy that my legs felt so good. My fitness is coming back. i still haven't gotten in the pool yet and im kind of scared to.
Not a 4 point i know but at 20 feet it seemed this big
Quite a story! Gotta start packin heat when you run! You are welcome to take our dog running when you come down. She is crazy fast.
